SunGene is located on theCampus of the Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research which is one of the most important public institutions for plant research in Europe.

Gatersleben itself is a village in the heartland of Germany´s most fertile agricultural area (Magdeburger Börde) about two hours by car from Germany´s capital Berlin.

The nearby city of Quedlinburg, where most of SunGene´s staff reside, is a lively and picturesque UNESCO world heritage city.


Within twenty kilometers of Quedlinburg the National Park "Harz Mountains" offers spectacular opportunities for lovers of nature and traditional European culture.  





How to find us

Gatersleben is located in the center of the State of Saxony-Anhalt.
You reach SunGene via the B6N with connection to the German motorway network
(junctions Hoym or Quedlinburg-east).

There is also a railway station in Gatersleben, which serves the train from Halle to Hannover.
